Squash world mourns the death of Hany Hamouda

It is will heavy heart the FPS announces the tragic and untimely passing of the President of the Squash Federation of Africa, Eng. Hany Hamouda, at the age of 64 years on January 15th due to complications of Covid-19 . He was a member of the Executive Committee of the World Squash Federation since 2013 and a member of the board of the Egyptian Squash Federation since 2008. He leaves behind his wife Dr. Manal Elhakim and two daugther, Alia and Gayda.

 

President Francisco Paradisi, and the board of the FPS, extend their deepest condolences to the Hamouda family, the Squash Federation of Africa, the World Squash Federation, and the Egyptian Squash Federation, on the loss of one of squash’s most popular and respected champions of the game.

“The name, Hany Hamouda, will always be synonymous with the game of squash.  He was a tremendous builder and touched the lives of thousands of people around the world with his infectious passion for our sport. He miraculously always found time for everyone. In his kind, humble and gentle manner, he globally-inspired athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers while continuously motivating national leaders to achieve more.” said shocked President Paradisi, ” He had a remarkable talent for uniting people to drive our sport forward. Hany’s vision for the success of squash was unparalleled. Hany Hamouda will be forever missed around the world and especially by the Federacion Panamericana de Squash ”.
