Athletes’ Commission

The Members voted unanimously in favor of the addition of an Athletes’ Commission during the XXXII ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2020, as per Article XV (b) in the Bylaws of the Federacion Panamericana de Squash.

Value Statement:

The Athletes’ Commission is an elected body that upholds the values and principles of the Olympic Movement through transparency and equality, serving as the link between the FPS and all National Team athletes competing in Pan American Squash Championships or any other Games that are under the jurisdiction of the FPS.

Mission:

To ensure the value of all National Team athletes competing in PANAM SQUASH Championships or any other Games that are under the jurisdiction of the FPS, is recognized within the Federación Panamericana de Squash (PANAM SQUASH).

Vision:

To be the voice of all athletes that compete in Pan-American Championships or any other Games that are under the jurisdiction of PANAM SQUASH by being the forum to develop ideas to bring forward to PANAM SQUASH.

SAMANTHA TERAN

Athlete Representative (2026-2030)

Born in Mexico City, Mexico

Former world # 11, Samantha is considered the best Latin American player in the history of the squash. She captured 20 consecutive Mexican National Championships and was the first Mexican to compete on the Tour World Women’s International Squash Players Association.

She won 7 Pan American Women’s Championship titles between 2017 and 2014 and captured bronze at the Women’s World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands. In 2018 she was appointed World Squash Ambassador for the Games Youth Olympians in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

CHRISTOPHER GORDON

Athlete Representative (2026-2030)

Born in New York, USA

Christoper has been a professional squash player on the PSA Tour for over 24 years.

In that time, he has played in over 300 tournaments globally, winning 6 PSA titles and reaching a career high ranking of 44. He represented Team USA in 7 world team championships, 3 World Games, 3 Pan American Games and countless Pan-Am Championships.

Christopher captured a silver and bronze medal in the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara in 2011 and 2 bronze medals in PanAm Games in Toronto in 2015. He is still competing regularly on the PSA Tour and commentated for SquashTV as he split his time between New York, US and Bogota, Colombia.
