MEXICO has been declared Masters of the Doubles Court in the America’s after capturing gold in both the Women and Mixed Doubles but COLOMBIA is biting at their heels as they dominated in the Men’s Doubles final and snagged the gold at the 1st Youth Pan American Games in Cali Colombia. The jam-packed crowd were on edge and screaming for hours as Mexico and Colombia battled it out for all three titles. The display of athleticism, racquet skills and razor-sharp focus by both teams was remarkable. Both teams were relentlessly in firing wicked cross-courts, punishing rails and dead nick drops; only a few unforced errors separated the two teams in 2 of the matches. Mexico’s coach Eric Galvez and Colombia’s coach Martin Knight are to be congratulated on their outstanding results.
The medals were presented by Pablo Serna, Vice President of World Squash Federation and Sergio Becerra, President of the South American Squash Federation
