197 junior players from 18 countries and territories competed in more than 380 matches across four days at the III Pan American Open Squash Championship U11, U13, U15 & U17 in Bucaramanga, Colombia.
The III Pan American Open Squash Championship U11, U13, U15 & U17 came to an end in Bucaramanga, Colombia, after four days of competition from August 27โ30, 2026, bringing together the next generation of squash players from across the Americas. A total of 197 players competed across the Boysโ and Girlsโ U11, U13, U15 and U17 categories, making Bucaramanga a meeting point for junior athletes, coaches, families and squash communities from throughout our continent.
Players representing 18 countries and territories participated: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Cayman Islands, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Guyana, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, United States and Venezuela. Across two venues and four days of competition, more than 380 matches were played, highlighting the scale and continued growth of the Pan American Junior Open.
Guatemala and Colombia finish as overall champions
At the conclusion of the championship, Guatemala and host nation Colombia shared the top position, finishing with the same number of medals across the different categories. Mexico finished third overall, completing the top three nations of the 2026 Pan American Junior Open. Beyond the overall standings, the championship demonstrated the depth of junior talent developing throughout the Americas, with players from multiple countries reaching the podium and winning Main, Consolation and Plate draws. More than 380 matches across two venues
Delivering a tournament featuring 197 junior players and more than 380 matches required two venues operating throughout the championship. Matches were held at the Club Campestre de Bucaramanga and Universidad Autรณnoma de Bucaramanga (UNAB), which became home to the Pan American junior squash community throughout the four days of competition. Players, coaches and families moved between both venues as the draws progressed from the opening rounds through to the championship matches.

Their collaboration and support played an important role in creating the environment necessary to successfully deliver an event of this scale.

Behind every match, draw and competition day was a team responsible for coordinating the many details required to welcome 197 athletes from 18 countries and territories. PanAm Squash would like to give special recognition to Event Director Carlos Romรกn for his leadership, commitment and work in making the 2026 Pan American Junior Open possible. We also recognize and thank Camilo Castro and Juan Gabriel Angarita, who worked alongside Carlos throughout the championship as part of the team responsible for delivering the event.
Organizing more than 380 matches across two venues in four days required coordination, commitment and countless hours of work before and during the tournament. But the importance of the Pan American Junior Open goes beyond those numbers. For an U11 player experiencing international competition at a young age, this tournament can represent the beginning of a much longer journey. For U13 and U15 athletes, it provides another opportunity to compete against different styles and players from different countries.
And for U17 athletes, it represents another important step as they continue developing toward higher levels of junior and senior competition. The presence of players from North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean is also a reflection of what this championship is designed to achieve: connecting the next generation of our sport through competition. Players may arrive wearing different flags, but together they represent the future of squash in the Americas.

Congratulations to Guatemala and Colombia, our joint overall champions, and to Mexico for finishing third. Congratulations as well to all eight Main Draw champions, every Consolation and Plate winner, and every athlete who stepped onto court during four unforgettable days in Bucaramanga.
